WHY WORK ON THE CHAKRAS

The word chakra is derived from the Sanskrit word meaning wheel.

If we were able t osee the chakras (as many psychics, in fact, do) we would observe a wheel of energy continuously revolving or rotating.

A chakra is considered to be an energy vortex, where energy exchange occurs with the Universal Energy Field (ie., the universe).

Energy flows into the chakra, ultimately finding its way into the nervous system.

Each of the chakras would appear as a circular energy vortex with the deepest point at a location very close to the spinal cord and can extend outwards to the auric field.

The roots of all chakras are connected through a line of energy within the body, which runs through and parallel to the spinal cord.

The size and brightness of the wheels vary with individual development,physical condition, energy levels, disease, or stress.

If the chakras are not balanced, or if the energies are blocked, the basic life force will be slowed down. The individual may feel listless, tired, out of sorts, or depressed.

Not only will physical bodily functions be affected so diseases may manifest, but the thought processes and the mind may also be affected. A negative attitude, fear, doubt,etc. may preoccupy the individual.

A constant balance between the chakras promotes health and a sense of well being. If the chakras are opened to much, a person could literally short circuit themselves with too much universal energy going through the body.

If the chakras are closed, this does not allow for the universal energy to flow through them properly which may also lead to dis-ease.

Most of us react to unpleasant experiences by blocking our feeling and stopping a great deal of our natural energy flow.

This affects the maturation and development of the chakras. Whenever a person blocks whatever experience he is having, he in turn blocks his chakras, which eventually become disfigured.

When the chakras are functioning normally, each will be open, spinning clockwise to metabolize the particular energies needed from the universal energy field.As already mentioned any imbalances that exist within any chakra may have profound effects upon either our physical or emotional bodies. If energy is not flowing into a chakra, the chakra is termed "shut" or "blocked".

If energy is leaving the body's energy system rather than being absorbed by it, the chakra is termed one which has "counterclockwise energy flow". In these cases, little or no energy is being exchanged with the universe. Lack of energy flow into the human energy system eventually results in physical disease.

A person with multiple shut chakras has difficulty expressing life freely and has difficulty in relating to life in general. All chronic illnesses have a physical, emotional and spiritual effect on the person, and are always accompanied by one or more shut chakras.Although we term chakras as being "open" or "shut", differing degrees of open and shut exist. Chakras may also be termed as "hyperactive", or "weak".

These terms are used to describe the relative energy levels of one chakra to another. The term "balancing" refers to equalizing the energy intake of each chakra so that they are all nearly equal.The chakras also transmit energy between the layers of the aura.

This is done through the tips or roots of the chakra. Properly functioning chakras are essential to the normal aura. Whether one reads auras or diagnoses through chakras, normality of one indicates normality of the other, and dysfunction of one is indicative of dysfunction of the other.

Each chakra has a specific function associated with it, and governs a certain area of our personality, spirituality, specific glands, specific organs, and is associated with a specific layer of the aura. If a specific chakra is open, those specific areas associated with it will be normal and healthy. If the chakra, on the other hand if shut, those areas which it should be nourishing will eventually enter an unhealthy state.
